Kim was born and raised in Washington and attended Central Washington University where she earned a bachelor of science in accounting. She has two adult kids and loves to babysit her son's sheep-a-doodle.

Kim has worked for McDonald's for 38 years and became an owner 22 years ago. In her spare time, she enjoys pilates, scuba diving (only in tropical water!), and playing with her grand-dog Oberon.
